1964 c10 value?? Need help!
Hi guys! I originally came to this website after buying a 68 short bed. I was originally looking for the 60-66 body. So after 5 months of owning it, I sold it. Now I have found a truck with all my requirements, which are only; Short bed and big back window. The truck looks very nice! The owner is asking 22k. Can you guys help me figure out if its worth it, or if I should offer him less.. based on the pictures. Any help is appreciated.

One picture with zero information makes it real hard to give it a value.

I was told by the owner that he has owned the truck for 8 years, it has a 283ci with a 350 trans, headman headers and the fuel cell has been moved to the rear.also that the paint and chrome look new.

Its really hard to say, if he`s had everything done he`s got a lot into it, if he`s running a body shop or like he`s got a lot less in it, my guess is start at fifteen, all he can say is no and go from there you can always come up but never back down...

There's a ton of of money in it, and it appears to be well done. Beyond a certain point it depends on your spending comfort level. Get more specifics on the build and compare it to what you think it would cost you to build.

If the build quality is nice and it is rust free you couldn't recreate it for 22k. I think 20 is a fair price if everything is new and its what you want. I have 200 hours plus in mine and it doesn't even have primer on it yet.

I restore and sell these trucks. That one, going by the pictures and what you said looks like a 18 to 20 thousand dollar truck to me. If this is the truck you are looking for dont let it pass it may be a hard to find another one like it.

Re: 1964 c10 value?? Need help!
The bed looks like it is a shortened long bed. The stake pockets over the wheel wells are still there with the holes above filled in. It looks like they did a nice job on it though. It raises questions as to whether it's just a shortened bed or if the whole truck has been converted from a long bed. I'd check the vin for numbers that indicate short bed. You could check the kick panel on the driver's side for wheelbase info but it's gone. Good luck, it looks like a nicely done truck. I wouldn't pay 22K for a shortened long bed though.

Re: 1964 c10 value?? Need help!
For 1964 the vin should be 4C144 _ _ _ _ _ _ _. The 14 indicates half ton short bed. A 15 would indicate half ton long bed.

Re: 1964 c10 value?? Need help!
It's ironic that the long bed to short bed drops the value of this truck, when in other forums, all we get preached to is how valuable the short beds are. Guess it depends on who's buying and who's selling.
If it's what you want, then you are the only one that can set a value or what you want to spend. Doesn't matter what anyone else thinks, they're not the one forking over the cash or driving it. |

Re: 1964 c10 value?? Need help!
Looks like a very nice truck. A lot of work was put into it. What does under the truck look like. Super detailed ,every thing new and shiny or all black. The high end trucks should look as good underneath as on top. There are a lot of cut down trucks out there. Glad you found out before buying. Look under bed sides and frame to see if they did a good job on cutting. If its what you want make a offer and enjoy. Sure can't build one like it for under $15,000

Big thing with a conversion is how was the chassis done. Take a good look at the splice. It is a nice looking truck. Is it as clean underneath as it is on top?

Re: 1964 c10 value?? Need help!
I may go another route, since the owner wasnt aware of the convertion.. he doesnt know what to sell it for now. I personally dont care that its been cut. but I wouldnt pay the 20 plus he is asking… I may just buy a project from a member.
