Re: Sway bar help (Porterbuilt)
Nobby,... mount the end links to the lower control arm and keep the end links vertical/plumb.
(I shortened my end links also) This will position where the sway bar frame mounts need to go. You can also look at knowmadd's thread,... http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...542821&page=11

Re: Sway bar help (Porterbuilt)
Porterbuilt sway bars are Addco brand sway bars.
Here's an install with stock arms,... but t he Ridetech arms use a welded on bracket in place of the "bolt-on" end link bracket. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=322228

Re: Sway bar help (Porterbuilt)
Do these help:
This install is with PB Lower Forward arms. The ADDCO kit did come with 2 right angle brakets to bolt to the front edge of the stock lower arms. You would need to drill a hole in each arm to bolt the bracket to the arm.

Thanks guys, Looks like some install on top of tie rod an some below..I have 5'' spacer which is even with tie rods. Should I ditch the spacer and let it ride under steering rods?

Quote:
Shorten the spacer and buy a new shorter link bolt. I'm sure the length of the Addco "link spacer" is for stock height trucks.

Re: Sway bar help (Porterbuilt)
Another member chapster, PM'd me and asked some questions about my install and clearances when aired out. Since we did not run the truck aired out (we run it as a static drop with the bags), I never concerned myself with the aired out clearances.
We last week I had some time with the wheels off of the truck to test this and boy I am glad I did. If we had a bag fail, we would have been in a bit of a bind (pun intended). The sway bar end and the endlink tube/bolt both interfered with the spindle at full drop and also the steering arm of the spindle hit the end of the sway bar. Here are a few pictures of different view of the areas of concern: Here are few at ride height with a tape measure to show clearance. At ride height this set up worked very well in everyday driving.

Re: Sway bar help (Porterbuilt)
Do you think your interference is due to the fact you are running a No-Limit Engineering rack steering?
Stock steering would have the tie rods on top of the spindle arm. Also,... where are the "cup shaped" washers for the end link bushings?

Re: Sway bar help (Porterbuilt)
We have been having the sway bars drop-shipped directly from ADDCO, as they manufacture them specifically for us. There are a handful of variations and hardware kits and we have had them ship the incorrect hardware before.
Aggie, the end link you have is in not correct for the airbag variation (which you have obviously found out), but it what we use on the coil-over kits. I apologize for the mix-up. The variation for the airbag has a much shorter end link that sets below the tie rod. Send me an email and I will make sure we get you the correct end link and hardware. sales@pbfab.com Nate

Re: Sway bar help (Porterbuilt)
Hey Nate,
can you provide pics of what set up you are recomending for aggie? I am also using the over the tie rods (second set you sent) with the r & p. Did not know it will work under the tie rod. Maybe a separate thread on advice on how to use your sway bar with the No Limit R&P would be helpful? Aggie, Are you using forward arms?
