I pushed them into a small hole under the front lip of the hood on my truck.

Thanks for the input and pic. The smaller square rubber block is installed in the threaded hole there for sure,I have not on any of these trucks seen these round pop in style used anywhere on the hood except on yours...,I wonder if anyone else has opinions on this.

There were no bumpers of any sort on the front of the hood when I bought the truck from my uncle (originally my grandfather's truck--he purchased it new in 65). When the kit came in I had no idea where the round ones went either, but that looked like a good place to me, and they fit.

Looks like the push-in round bumpers were only used on the 60-61 hoods ... I believe they're #3 on this assembly manual illustration:

I don't think they used them on the 62-66 hoods:

Thank's for the great info here,4 pads only and that's what I thought ! Suppliers selling this kit are obviously unaware of this.

They go where Mike suggested.
I had to trim some of the rubber off the back side as the hole in the hood wasn't very deep.

The square rubber ones go on the back of the hood where the hood meets or rubs on the cowl. 2 on the hood and 2 on the cowl. They rub or mate up in the same spot, on the left and right hand side.
Can't remember if the rivets go on the hood or cowl.
The round rubber ones go in the front and as far as I know they were not specific to 60-61 as after a little trimming they fit on my 65.
Hope this helps.

Re: 1964-1966 Hood bumper set ? Help.....

OK, I should have looked before made my last statement.
I just looked at mine and there are the 2 soft round rubber ones on the front of hood as pictured.
The soft ones so as not to rub your paint off.
On the back side of hood there is a spot where the rectangle harder rubber bumbers are rivited on with 2 rivits each. This is located where the hood would sit closed 1/2 way down on the cowl extensions.
The cowl has a spot where you can see where your hood would rest.
I stated earlier that the other 2 bumbers went on the cowl, not so my mistake. On mine there is no bumbers on the cowl but only on the hood where it mets the cowl. I could not see how it would be mounted there as there are no screw or rivet holes even if it was missing.
As for the 2 square bumbers with one hole in them I don't know where those go. Sorry for being long winded but I wanted to clear up my mistake.

The single hole square bumpers are the ones shown as #4 in the 62-66 hood diagram I posted earlier. They're held in place with screw #5.

I believe these bumpers on Dad's 66 are originals (not replacements) ... Front:

And rear:

I stand corrected. My truck was re-painted and came with the round rubber ones. I still believe that the softer ones would be more paint freindly.
