2000 5.3 Vortec w/ 4l60e Wiring Help

Anyone know what the relay in my wiring is for? Do I need it? Have I identified the sensors correctly? Do I just need the MAF and (1) 02 Sensor from this leg?

Specs:
2000 5.3 Vortec w/ 4l60e Wiring Harness

Hello uxdedigner. I don't recall ever seeing a relay wired in a harness like that. From you pics, I can't make out what is. I would need a close up pic. To answer your question, no you don't need it in your harness if it is a relay. Most lsx swap guys wire our relays in stand alone fashion. Also, to answer you next question you only need (1) set of o2 sensors which means you will have (2) o2 sensors, one for each side, driver o2 and passenger o2. Yes, you will need only the MAF sensor from that side. I can't tell on your pics but that egr may be the throttle body plug such as idle air controller. There should be a throttle position plug me t to it. I wanted to see the other injector/ coil pack side to see if this is the idle air controller. I hope this helps. Clark.

You COULD pop the covering off the wires and trace it back to the computer connector and the number on the computer will tell its function. Just use the chart at LT1Swap.com to figure it out. HTH

Clark, thanks for the info. Just what I was looking for and yes that was the EGR with the IAC on the other side as you mentioned.

I also traced the wire back to PCM from the relay and it turns out to be the AIR Pump Relay Control (w/NC1) which is not needed and I've gone ahead and pulled it. I've also not seen this in any of the wire how to's

NC1 is california emmisions code for older engines, I believe they stoped using it around 2001 or when they took the egr valve away. I've personally never seen one in a harness like that though, all the wiring diagrams I have say that relay is in a fuse box.
