LSX swap fuel system what ya got
With so many of us doing LSX swaps, and all the different ways to do the fuel system, it can get kinda overwhelming. How about a thread like the "LSX swappers what ya got" thread? Maybe the mods can make it a sticky.
Vehicle Engine Fuel tank Fuel pump Fuel lines Returnless? Build thread Running? Then maybe a little about how you like it. And if the mods are ok with it, maybe some prices if you want. Thanks. |

Re: LSX swap fuel system what ya got
Here's my current setup.
Vehicle: 1972 C10 longbed Engine: 2007 LR4 4.8 Fuel tank: Stock in cab Fuel pump: Walbro GSS342 stuffed into the stock tank using a kit intended for turbocharged '94-'97 Mazda Miatas. Fuel lines: Mostly stock with new rubber. Returnless? No. Converted to return type with earlier fuel rails / regulator. Build thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=592021 Running? Yes. This was a setup to get things up and running quickly. It accomplished that, but long term, I think I'd like to move the fuel tank under the bed. Even with new rubber fuel lines, I can't seem to get the smell of gas completely out of the cab, I suspect NHRA tech inspectors will hate this setup, and having a fuel pump sitting right behind me is seriously loud. (On the other hand, so's an exhaust with 40 series Flowmasters and no cats, so you only really notice it on startup. But for a more civilized truck, this would be seriously annoying.)

Vehicle - 71 C10
Engine - 2003 LM7 with a 4L60E Fuel tank - Factory in cab, with return line added to sending unit. Fuel pump - Walbro 255lph inline mounted on frame rail. Fuel lines - Factory engine fuel lines, then bent new lines to tank. Returnless? - No Build thread - None Running? - Yes, around 2,500 miles so far. This setup it pretty quiet. You can only hear the pump when it primes before starting the engine.

Re: LSX swap fuel system what ya got
It's gravity fed as long as the fuel level is above the pump...lol. There is a "sump" in the bottom/rear of the tank, but not quite in the traditional sense.

Vehicle - 72 C10
Engine - 4.8 Fuel tank - Factory Fuel pump - Walbro inline Fuel lines - EFI Hose Returnless? - No Build thread - http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=515425 Running? - Yes! Not that impressed with the rubber hose and clamps, but my brain about exploded trying to figure out how to do the fuel lines, and it still hurts when I think about improving it. Trying not to spend $400 on fuel line also!

Re: LSX swap fuel system what ya got
How bad is the fuel pump noise with it behind the seat? I will have the same pump. I intend to dynamat the tank while i am having the seat recovered. Mine will be an almost daily driven truck

@Narxoleptic Customs, I'm using a fuel sending unit from a 1987 r1500 c10 with fuel pump ep381 and I barely can hear the fuel pump run.

Re: LSX swap fuel system what ya got
An '87 squarebody doesn't have a tank behind the seat. But if you intend to put one in a 67-72, it will be noticeable. I would suggest a good stereo to cover up the noise.
