Got 2.5 spindles installed
Got my spindles installed, anybody else have to straighten out the metal part of your brake lines and relocate them to the top of the upper control arm.. Might look into some new ones but for now they are relocated but not sure I like them up there. They are not rubbing anything though. And I like the ride better with the factory springs than the lowering springs.

Re: Got 2.5 spindles installed
You should have bent them to go by the upper ball joint castle nut.

Re: Got 2.5 spindles installed
You should bend them downward to where they sweep just underneath the upper ball joint nut. They still run through the area between the ball joints, and not above the control arms. This is a necessity on pretty much all drop spindle installs.

Re: Got 2.5 spindles installed
That was the first I ever heard of it but I thought about bending them down but didn't want to kink it

These are three inch drop spindles and new Raybestos brake hoses. I tweaked the hoses down until they cleared everything. This way you can run everything like stock and bolt the hoses to the upper control arms with the stock tab locations. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Got 2.5 spindles installed
Rockauto has them for like 8 bucks each. I just can't sleep at night knowing I'm relying on 35 year old rubber hoses to stop the truck that I drive all the time and often haul my daughters around in.

Re: Got 2.5 spindles installed
I used braided brakes hoses in the past and always went with these....
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-672310 Disregard the stock photo in the ad. They come with three hoses in the set for front and rear and are a direct bolt on. This is the best picture I have of them. I installed all of the brake lines from an 80 model into my 63 and used Russell 73-87 hoses to go along with them. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Got 2.5 spindles installed
I wonder why the 73-78 brake line kit is almost $30 more than the 79-91 kit?
