cab mount kit

I have seen some catalogs sell a cab mount kit for 60-66 and some split them up into 60-62 and 63-66. Is there a difference. in some of the catalogs that split them up they say that the 60-62 kit does not come with new bolts.

Re: cab mount kit

I normally see square cab mounts on the earlier cabs 60-62 and round on the 63-66. Also noted recently when we went to get the newest 63 (cab was off the frame)....I had a nice set of 61 mounts that we took with us so that we could mount the cab for transport. The 61 mounts were shorter than the stock 63 round ones were.

How far up do you have to lift the cab to install the mounts?

Re: cab mount kit

Just high enough to get them in. Remember thats higher than what its required to be when getting the old ones off.

The cab was completely off the frame when we arrived. But, you will need about 2" of clearance to get the upper mount in w/the metal sleeve. The the lower mount will go on, the washer and then the bolt. The rears bolt up through the cab....the front two have bolts that drop down from inside the cab and have nuts that will attach.

Re: cab mount kit

Mine are bad , but I can't replace them now. Can I spray them with something to stop them from getting worse? Like silicone spray.

Re: cab mount kit

It may help temporarily, but if the rubbers are shot...they will eventually need replaced.
