Greetings from socal
I just wanted to say hello from a happy new owner. I have been a member since the beginning of the year but wanted to post in here as I was recently lucky enough to find my dream ride. I found a 64 in Texas a few weeks back and was crazy enough to drive it home to CA. The truck is not 100% finished which is great as I get to add my own touches. What a great experience as I took my 16 year old daughter with me and we hit several sites off good ol' Route 66. Here are a few pics from the road trip.

Re: Greetings from socal
Thanks for the welcome and the kind words. I love the info and the friendly people here. The truck is nearly finished, upholstery and a bed floor would get it really close.
Barney - it was great meeting you as well. Friday was fun. Too bad I missed Saturday, Goodguys Del Mar, but we were out there on Sunday. Here is a few more pics from the trip. |

Re: Greetings from socal
^^^^^^^^^^^
Thank you very much. I dont know what the actual ride height is in inches. With stock components up front, along with being bagged all around, most of the pictures in this thread are aired out. The front crossmember is on the ground. I run about 70psi in front and about 45psi in the rear. That puts the front fender even with top of tire and in the rear fender even with top of rim. The picture of the truck at drive in food eatery, the truck is sitting at the height that I made most of the trip from Texas. |

Re: Greetings from socal
I envy you. And although the truck is a great find, it's not because of that. My daughter and I haven't been close for years. (Long story) Congrats on finding your dream truck, but believe you are truly blessed to be able to share this with your daughter.

Re: Greetings from socal
You are so right. The truck is great but the fact that I was able to make that trip with my daughter is very special. These trucks come and go but family is first. I hope its not too late for you and your daughter. I wish you all the best.

Re: Greetings from socal
Thank you. I cant take the credit though, I just bought the truck the way it curently sits. I will finish it off, it needs a bed floor and seat upholstry. Add a few touches of my own and call it a day.
Thanks, thats my hope. |
