What kinda CB you sportin'?

merry christmas!

been thinking about getting a CB. been many years since i owned one, so i am out of the loop.

wanted to see what kind of CB's people are using here and which ones i should avoid. i am not looking for anything super high-end but don't want a p.o.s. either.

cheers,

Currently I’m running a Ranger 2950 with a killer Bee 250 kicker. Cobras are probably one of the best radios made, have had many model 29’s over the years and they never let me down.

i'm running a box stock Uniden PC66 (same as Cobra 25). its currently hanging under the dash of my K1500, but its not hooked up. i need to buy a toolbox for it so i can mount a pair of cowboy whips on it, then i'll hook it up. i'll probably mod it while i'm at it.

I have a Cobra LTD29 Classic but i think the board died so it sits in the utility room until I can get another. Im thinking of gettting a nice Connex board peaked and tuned and like a 300watt talk box.

I'm using a Cobra 29, barefooted, Astatic mike and Wilson 2000 Ant. Good set-up for me. I drive 3500 to 5500 miles per week in a long haul cargo van (2003 Chevy 2500 Express) and this setup gets the job done.

I run a Cobra 18 WX ST with a magnet-mount Wilson 1000 stainless steel whip antenna. I don't keep it permanently mounted and transfer it between the Suburban and the Jeep.

It works great and really gets out. I get a SWR of 1.5 or less on both vehicles, but mostly 1.5...

I've got the cobra 29WXNWST and need to get peaked and tuned. It works great I love the night look and when weather is looking bad I know I can get it and listen to the news.

Cobras are good radios but Galaxys/Rcis are awesome the cuircitry is far more advanced than any cobra they use transistor type modulation rather than transformer style wich is what cobra uses ..

Dont get me wrong the cobra 29's 25's are darn good radios ive got A 29 i run in my truck keys 2 swings 25 has the 120 channels 40 up 40 down kit connex board 1969 final Driving a davemade 2x4 pushes out a little over 1300 watts pep.
