Anyone have any links on how to do this.. ive read about only cutting about an 1 1/2 out..I'm getting ready to do mine and it would be nice to get everything in order before I pull the trigger... its a 65 burb

I did this to my '66 instead of sectioning the crossmember since I needed the crossmember height for the rack & pinion mount. Ive seen that how to... he didn't follow up on what he did with the steering.. can you notch 2" on the xmember and not run into big problems?

PO of my 66' sectioned the cross member on my truck and did such a bad job I need to replace the whole thing with another one soon. I think he used a chain saw and was half blind. Good luck with yours and take your time. I can speak from experience, a poorly done one in no fun.
