Mystery parts help.

Does anyone recognize where these brackets & bolts go on the front of a '64?

I pulled the entire front sheetmetal apart on my truck. Now that I am starting to put it back together, I can't remember where these parts went.

Also, does anyone know the size & thread for the bolt that goes in the hole at the ends of the radiator support?

Thanks in advance.

Here some pics of where they go. I took lots of pictures as I knew I wouldn't remember.

Re: Mystery parts help.

Ah!
Awesome, thank you. I had actually been looking at those nuts on the bottom of the grille support and wondering what bolted there, but never made the connection.

Re: Mystery parts help.

Anyone have any guesses on where the bolts came from or what size bolt fits the end of the radiator support?

I'd assume those are the bolts pictured installed INTO the brackets you showed?

This might seem sarcastic, but like 95% of the hardware on this truck is one of 4 sizes; 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 3/4". 1/2" is the single most common size. (Interior stuff ends up being 1/4-9/32)

Re: Mystery parts help.

These two have a fairly fine thread and have larger washers permanently attached, and are the only two I can find of that type.

THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS QUESTION! I found these the other day, painted from last year, NO IDEA where they went. I was going to post the same question!

Re: Mystery parts help.

They look to be a finer thread than most the other body hardware. The ones that hold the sheetmetal all seem to have a more course thread. I might guess they could be from something like seatbelt attachment?

I'm trying to think of what the heck on an old truck used that fine a thread.

Get out a thread gauge, and find out what size/pitch that is, maybe we can point ya in a better direction.

Re: Mystery parts help.

Those 2 painted bolts in the pic are used to bolt the lower outer fender to the bracket that bolts to the cab.

The bolt size and thread at the ends of the radiator support are I believe 3/8-16

Re: Mystery parts help.

I think CaptainFab is right.

Here is the photo I took of the upper fender bolts and where they go. It also looks similar to one of the door hinge bolts.

On my truck each hinge had one bolt with the large washer.

Yep that fender bolt looks exactly right. You guys are awesome. Course, now I have to figure out what happened to the two for the other side...

Re: Mystery parts help.

Hey guys just ran acroos those myself this weekend. I found the the bolts to the rad support are a 3/8 by 24 thread and the other bolts that are on the rad support and most of the sheet metal are a 5/16 by 18 I believe I will have to look to be 100%. Hope this helps.

Re: Mystery parts help.

All you need are 2 bolts, one each side.
