Newbie question about front clips

So I know that the front clip on the big bolts is different from the light duty trucks (the fenders have larger openings and the hoods are longer), and I have read that the cabs are the same.

However, I was wondering if anyone has taken a complete cab and front clip off of a 1 1/2 ton or 2 ton and put it on a 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton pickup.

I'm really just curious as to the mounts for the front clip since everyone says that the cabs are identical. Are the front clip mounts in the same location on the frame of the big bolts and the light duty trucks?

The reason I'm asking is because I have the opportunity to buy an absolutely perfect rot free body off of a 4400, and I also have access to a 3100 frame.

Is it bolt in, or do I have to get a front clip from a 3100, 3600, or 3800?
