Radiator shroud

Those of you who still use a mechanical fan and can't reuse the original fan shroud, what do you use? What diameter fan blades?

When I dropped in the v8 I kept the radiator in the stock 6 location. I then went to the wrecking yard with some dimensions and grabbed one that was close (this was 1985). I had to fab some side mounts but it has served me well. Turned out it is a 69 Mustang V8 application, go good luck finding that today. Here is a pic to give you some inspiration. I just used the water pump fan spaced to get the blade centered in the venturi. It made a significant difference, without not much air get pulled thru the radiator by the fan.

what's not fitting? looks like it fits, if not your motor is in the wrong position.

My fan is an aftermarket 18" diameter, non-clutch type. The inside of the shroud is 20". I'm with Orge, with a straight type shroud you should be able to adjust it up and down to center the fan, by redoing the bolt holes, same with side to side if the water pump is not centered on the radiator. Front to back should not be an issue since it is a cylinder and not venturi type. If it is too deep and interferes with the belts, tin snips and a edge rounding dolly will fix that. Mine has extensive modifications using tin and pop rivets to attach to the plastic shroud. Semi gloss plack paint hides pretty good.
