Loaded BB Super Cheyenne-value?
I have a line on a '72 Cheyenne Super. From description of former owner, it should still be all original-paint and options. Has BB, AC, PS, tilt, AM/FM, buckets, wood floor in bed, and orange white paint-all factory options. He says the guy he sold it to put a rod through the oil pan and has been parked for a while and he suspects it may be for sale. Says when he sold it 2-3 years ago, it needed rockers and cab corners. I haven't seen it yet, but if description is correct what is it worth? To be honest, I wish I could get it and restore it, but probably would have to try to turn it as I just dont' have time to do it. Anybody truly interested in it?

truck
I'd love to have it. But right now, the price would have to be right and pics would always help. Sounds like a decent truck.

LWB. Forgot to mention that. I know the opitons make it a desirable pickup, but don't know if the opitons make it worth much more if it is somewhat rusty with bad motor. Besides, I would rather not buy it with parting it in mind-I don't really want to break up such a well optioned pickup and really don't have time to deal with it. That being said, I see about $1000 worth of parts as it sets so would guess it ought to be worth that much.

Worth
If its as you describe its very possible to be worth wll over $1000 in parts or whole. It vaires a little across country but eastern US should have higher value.
Buy it they don't make these trucks anymore. Many of us if we had more space and spare change would be crazy to not save as many of these trucks as we can. They are just starting to come on in value and popularity is ever increasing. Many of us grew up in these trucks whne they were new.

I am still trying to find a number for the name given to me. Even IF I can contact him and IF he wants to sell it, it is still 200+ miles away from me and would be a while before I could get it. Not trying to tease anyone here, just thought I would see if it is worth chasing as I've seen some pretty nice pickups selling lately that haven't been bringing the money I thought they would a couple of years ago. There has been some interest so I will keep working on it.

What general area is the truck itself in?
Don't expect to get what it's worth in parts for it if you sell it whole. Just doesn't work that way. I for one wouldn't pay almost as much for a non running rusty truck as I did for a running non rusty truck. |
