1984 Custom Deluxe 20 Dually Project.
I picked this up today. Runs OK, could use a fuel filter and air filter and a oil and filter change, and new sparkplugs lol. The brakes dont work well either, it is full of brake fluid but I dont have much brakes until the pedal is all the way down. What could the problem be? Does it just need to be bled? It is a 1984 Custom Deluxe 20 with a 350, 4 speed, 4WD, dually conversion, and flatbed. It is a very simple truck and not very bad, just needs TLC.

If the brake pedal is low but firm, check the rear drum adjustment first.
If the brake pedal is mushy, bleed them first.

Check for a leaking wheel cylinder...my 75 did the same thing, found a leaking cylinder and fixing it did the trick.
