removing lower ball joint

66 c10- I'm in the process of converting to disc breaks and dropping the front end. I have the old spindle out but I'm having difficulty removing the lower ball joint.
Who has advice on the easiest way to remove the ball joint?

get to your nearest orileys or autozone and rent a balljoint press. that's what I did. wasn't bad at all

Your local auto parts store will probably have a loaner tool section. You will need an air compressor and a 1/2" drive Impact wrench. The ball joint is a press fit. YouTube has several videos showing the process.

I didn't go the impact route. I did have a second set of hands to hold the LCA ( because the LCA's were off the truck) while I used a larger cresent wrench to run the tool. The impact would be the easiest route if you have the set up

i JUST DID MINE FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH THE TOOL FROM oRIELLYS. oNCE YOU GET THE TOOL FIGURED OUT IT'S EASY. pUTTING THE NEW ONE IN IT GOT A LITTLE CROOKED BUT i CAUGHT IT IN TIME AND JUST OFFSET THE TOOL A LITTLE AND IT WENT IN. Sorry about the caps
