Original Lock Key Code

Hey guys, so I never had the door key for my 84 K10. Anyone know how I can get the original key code for that key? It looks like the original factory sticker is still posted in the wheel housing up front. Anything on there that can help me? The dealer told me it's too old to go by the VIN.

Re: Original Lock Key Code

If memory serves me right, they stamped a number on the lock itself.
At least that's what I remember being told a number of years ago.
You might try pulling the lock cylinder from the door and look.

Yeah I heard that too, but if I go that far I could just change the lock cylinders......

Yeah I looked into that. A locksmith told me they could just from the door but its around $150. My dealer I work for could cut me a key for nothing if I had the codes. :\

I think new door locks with keys are very inexpensive.

Re: Original Lock Key Code

I bought a matching door and ignition set from lmc, they both use the same key, for like $25. I would go that route. way better only having one key.
