Heartthrob Dual Exhaust System (muffler question)

I'm eyeballing the Heartthrob True Dual Exhaust System, curious if anyone has installed the "stock type" muffler kit vs the glass pack muffler kit they sell (how do you like the mufflers provided?)

I also see a version without mufflers, I suppose I could stick some Flowmasters in there or something. Ugh, too many choices. Seems like autoanything.com is the lowest price(?)

Re: Heartthrob Dual Exhaust System (muffler question)

I just took a look at the same thing. That site gives the choice of stock muffler or glass-pack, but it doesn't say what mufflers they use. The only option (using their drop-down menu) for no mufflers is the configuration where it exits behind the rear tire. Exit in front or to the rear and the only choice is glass pack or muffler.

Also it states in the side note after selecting the configuration: "Will Not Fit Stock Manifolds that Exit Straight Down (Ram Horn Style Manifolds)". If the system is manifold back, what manifolds will this system line up with?

Following along since I'm gathering this and other parts for my 66 C10 that is getting an upgrade from the L6 to a 350 sb.

Crap. Mine needs to be straight-down ramhorn compatible on a 350. Perhaps the 4wd kit? Part # 4149GP or 4149SK.

What part # were you looking at?

Re: Heartthrob Dual Exhaust System (muffler question)

I just saw this thread. I'm looking at the same kits (funny that a search of the forums didn't turn up this thread, but Google found it).

I was told by Heartthrob that the kits you mention above all fit the straight down ram horn manifolds (4x4 version) I'm about to order a kit, but everyone seems to be backordered. Mine is for a 72, but it says the kits fit 66-72

Right, but that is for a 4x4. I'm wondering if there is any difference when fitting those onto a lowered 2WD.
