Looking for help ls air conditioner question
Just about to take the plunge on a ls swap. I'm gathering info before I start. Will the air conditioner compressor fit in between frame rails using factory brackets

I've used both setup in my 68 S/C build and my 69 Suburban build. Lots of photos there.

Re: Looking for help ls air conditioner question
I have mine set up using short adapter plates and the engine stands in the six cylinder position. This gives enough room to use a truck A/C compressor and bracket, but routing the lines around the frame rail will be a tight squeeze. I'm currently running without A/C as there are some other things I need to install.
Also, I had to cut the tops off the engine stands and weld them in upside-down to get enough room to clear the exhaust (using a set of 2010 Camaro manifolds). If I did it over again, I'd probably put the engine stands in the stock location and use a high mount A/C compressor.

Re: Looking for help ls air conditioner question
Yeah... I'd do exactly that if I were doing another swap like that. You just need a set of adapter plates to bolt the factory mounts onto the LS.

Holley makes a nice high mount bracket also.

Re: Looking for help ls air conditioner question
LS brackets also make one. They are who I used.
