63 gauge cluster question

Looking for either a supplier or someone who rebuilds the gauges / speedo for my 63 C-10. LMC says no one because the 64-66 is more popular.

My odometer is stuck at 78999.9 and the speedo can't make up it's mind between 40mph or 100mph. I am getting tired of relying on my speedometer app on my iphone balance on top of the ashtray )

Any help, leads to parts etc would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 63 gauge cluster question

Have you checked in with some of the speedometer repair shops in your area?

Re: 63 gauge cluster question

Your speedo head needs a lube job. It doesn't take much to take it apart and clean and lube it. The odometer being stuck is most likely related or you will see the problem when apart.

I have had a worm gear brake also, which turns the odometer. They are available if its the culprit

.
I had the same problem. I got a cluster from the junk yard and tore it apart for the parts I needed. Also do a forum search for "how to restore and detail an original gauge cluster". It helped me tremendously! It'll tell you how to reset your odometer.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but where do you find the worm drive gear? I'm having a little trouble.

Re: 63 gauge cluster question

I just removed a perfectly good instrument cluster from my 63. I installed 6 new auto meter gauges. Let me know if you need it and we will work something out.
