Dana 5500 Rear Axle Question
According to some original GM literature, I have a Dana 5500 rear end with 4.10 gears
Do I have a posi trac rear end?

Re: Dana 5500 Rear Axle Question
Some do, some don't. The Dana call them 'NoSpin' differential.
Is it listed on your SPID? Is there a tag on the cover that says "limited slip oil only" (or something like that) Best way to tell without having to take your cover off is to jack the rear in the air and rotate the tires. If they both go the same direction, you got a 'NoSpin' I got a pic of a operators manual (so you can see what they look like) I got the cover off my Dana 60 right now so if you want a pic, let me know.
