hyroboost power

I am curious as to how much psi a stock/oem hydroboost unit puts out, the reason i ask is because for my project truck i am looking at the CPP brand hydroboost unit that puts out 1800 psi, is a stock one similar or is this aftermarket one more powerful?

Re: hyroboost power

Hydroboost is nice for hot cams that have low manifold vacuum in some or all RPM ranges and for diesels that have zero manifold vacuum.
I prefer the hydroboost units because as long as the engine is running the boost is predictable from low RPM through extremely high RPM.
Hydroboost is more reliable than the other option... vacuum pumps from cars like the 1980's Celebrity.

This is one place where mores' law doesn't apply.
The factory 1 ton and diesel hydroboost systems will be just as reliable or better than an aftermarket system. And. There's no wondering if it will bolt up.

Re: hyroboost power

the pressure comes from the power steering pump, so I'd say they would be about the same.
