vaccum advance dist
ok would it be a better choice to hook the vaccum on the dist. to the timed port on the carb or the full?

Full vacuum at idle is best. I have never run ported (timed) vacuum on any small block I've ever owned. But, there is more to it than just switching where the vacuum comes from. You have the amount of vacuum the stock canister has, which is way too much, especially for a 305.

If you don't have a vacuum advance canister, why are you worried about where to hook the vacuum hose?

ok well then that was another thing hooked up wrong on my truck when i got it cause it wasnt hooked into the cruise or a vaccum line that was. lol thats what i get for buying a truck and then pulling the air cleaner off and seeing duct tape on the carb lol
