how much pressure can the corvette fuel filter handle ??

Hy all,

i would like to go with an external aftermarket fuel pump... (maybe Walbro or Bosch).

Those pumps do have up to 80 - 100 psi....

So can i use the original Corvette fuel filter ?? Can that filter handle that pressure ?

I dont wanna go with a return fuel line...

So far i got some informations out of the www the F-Bodys dont have a return line.... but i am a bit confused in my donor car (Camaro Z28 of 1999) i do have 2 fuel lines ..

I have attached a pic ...pls let me know which line goes where and what function ??

Thanks a lot

The Vette filter will handle a 255 without an issue. As for what lines go where on the Vette filter its easier to explain with a picture. See below.

What is the donor engine going in?

Re: how much pressure can the corvette fuel filter handle ??

The filters will handle well over 100psi physically, its whether or not your actually filtering anything with that much pressure. I doubt the filter media will do anything with 100+psi straight through, but the filter/reg will have no problem handling and regulating it to the 60psi you need.

The older Fbody setups used a PWM thingy which looks and acts a bit like the 'vette style, but IS NOT the same thing. The fbody has that built into the sender/bucket. IMO its best just to keep going with your conversion using the 'vette stuff.

Also, keep in mind that the maximum pressure a pump CAN put out often isn't what it DOES put out. It is just the pressure you'd get if you blocked the flow completely. A bypass regulator (like the one in the Corvette fuel filter) lets excess fuel go past it, so the pressure coming in is much lower.
