16"X7" (6-hole) Wheel Vintiques smoothies painted Wimbledon White:

The tires are Bridgestone Dueler Alenza Plus in 235/70R-16.

I bought 5 wheels, tires, caps and rings because the spare is mounted on the bed side.

Good looking paint on the rims, Roger.
Where does one buy the best quality rings? I want the deepest, richest-looking chrome job.

I bought the Wheel Vintiques rings. They are stainless not chrome as I think all rings are.

Here's my '54 with 15X7 soothies, WW tires and 3" beauty rings all from Coker Tire in Chattanooga, TN. I live about 30 miles west of Chatt so I just drove over picked them up. Don't make the same mistake I did. Get your rims powder coated. Mine are starting to chip after 4 years. BTW, the baby moons are for a '53. The '54 moons had blue lettering and the '53 had red lettering.

What kind of primer and paint did you use?

I thought about having mine powder coated but decided to spray them with SPI epoxy primer and Summit acrylic urethane single-stage. I'm hoping they will hold up well. Single-stage urethane should be a pretty durable paint.

I'd like to see some 18" smoothies and tires with a bit of side wall on an AD. I want my rears to be as wide as possible. Really like the moons on steelies.

Roger, I don't know what primer or paint was used. I left it to the guy who did my body work. Sorry about that.

Re: How About Some Rim An Tire Pics With Specs

I know they aren't factory look steelies but this is the look I am going for on my 53 Ridler 695 and Kumho ecsta packagae. I wanted more sidewall and was willing to give up and inch or so of height to get the meatier look I was going for.

what size wheel/tire combo is that? I agree that the meatier combo looks good on these trucks, too much rim just looks off IMO.

These are 17" x 8 , 8 lug tubeless with the original 1947 centers so we could use the original looking hub caps

Here are the sizes. Gonna be a tight squeeze up front, hopefully we can make it work without rubbing.

Re: How About Some Rim An Tire Pics With Specs

Here are my before-and-after shots as to why I needed beauty rings on chrome wheels. My panel sat in a SoCal orchard for many years and collected dirt and moisture on all the wheels. I sprayed the rust with POR before I put on the rings.
before with storage rust rings:

after, but ignore the reflection of the homeless man taking the photos:

Good luck, I thought mine Ridler 695s were tight and I'm running 245/45ZR18 and 275/40ZR20 tires. I've received quite a few comments about how tight they are but they don't rub. My truck isn't bagged either.

IMO it's hard to beat the look of Corvette rallies with wide whites. You can usually find a set pretty cheap too which is another advantage.

Re: How About Some Rim An Tire Pics With Specs

MB Wheel, Old School, Aluminum, Gloss Gray, 18.0 in. x 8.0 in., 4.5 in. Backspace in the rear with a 255/55/18

MB Wheel, Old School, Aluminum, Gloss Gray, 17 in. x 8.0 in., 4.740 in. Backspace in the front with a 225/50/17

Of course, like most above, not on stock suspension.
Would have liked to have gone wider, but prices were a big factor in the decision
