Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Well it was a long day today. Started around 7am and finished up around 6:30 tonight. Spent pretty much all day sanding and prepping the cab for paint. It seemed like every time I thought I was done, I spotted another area that needed attention finally started painting around 3:30. Turned out really nice, I have some runs I'm going to have to sand out but it was my first time trying to spray the complete cab. Painting the inside and the roof was a bear. Not looking forward to doing that again.

Thanks Brian, it was a lot of work getting to that point and I still have a lot left to do. I have to do it again when I spray the slick sand this weekend. Wish I had a tilting cab cart, would make spraying the inside easy. The other problem I had was I kept banging the gun into fresh paint, just not a lot of room in there. Thanks Steve, I'm happy with how it came out.

Looks great man! And x2 on shooting that inside. I had mine whipped, then thought "one more shot" and covered it in orange peel. Had to scrub the whole enchilada again!

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Thanks everyone, I'm really happy with how it turned out so far but I still have a lot of blocking and primering ahead of me. Things seem to take a lot longer then I anticipate so hopefully before the end of the year the cab will be Red still trying to decide between these two color schemes. All Red vs. Red with a White grill. What do you guys think?

My 2 cents on which scheme would be the first picture for sure!

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Pretty hard to beat Victory red .
I was thinking you had already picked torch red? I'm more partial to bright red, so I would say the bottom picture. |

Re: Project "What was I Thinking" 68 SWB
Are you looking at a white grille vs a red grille, or are the reds different colors? I'm thinking they're the same red, just different lighting.
If you're asking about the grille, I like the red. If you had a white roof, or white bumpers, I'd like the white grille. Not enough white in the rest of the truck for me to justify the grille. My $0.02, for whatever it's worth to you.

Hey Keith what about Candy apple, or Cherry red, two of the nicest colors of red IMO.

I'm going white top and have been kicking that white grill idea around too. I like it!
