Length of Panhard bar.

I bought a track bar from CPP. The one on my 64 is 24 inches long. From the center of the hole on each end. I have a 64. I bought an adjustable one. It was 25 and 3 fourths of an inch long in the shortest length. So it won't go on. CPP said I need one for a 65 to 72. How long is the bar on a 64? Maybe my body is on a 65. See the pic.

Re: Length of Panhard bar.

Is the axle centered? Did you install the lowered springs?

Re: Length of Panhard bar.

Those look like stock springs. I dont know that you would need an adjustable bar for stock height.
Or is it lowered?

Re: Length of Panhard bar.

I plan to lower the rear 4 inches with springs. The rear end is centered. The new track bar is to long. It won't go on. I wanted to install it before I have the springs installed.

Re: Length of Panhard bar.

Springs then bar. As the suspension falls or the frame gets close to the ground, the arc that the pan hard bar travels will grow ie longer bar

Re: Length of Panhard bar.

Once you drop the rear 4 " youll notice that bar will barely fit. It will fit though. Youll have to expand it all the way out pretty much.
In the meantime youll want to use a stock panhard bar.

I will need an adjustable bar when I drop it 4 inches? Is that correct?

Re: Length of Panhard bar.

Stock length bar w/stock springs.
Longer adjustable bar once the shorter drop springs are installed.

If the longer adjustable bar is installed w/the stock springs, the rear end will not be centered.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.
