Lizard skin

I'm about to paint my 59 cab and trying to decide on whether or not to coat the steps with lizard skin and then paint them. Trying to avoid scratches on painted steps. Anyone done this on their steps?

Re: Lizard skin

I don't believe that is what Lizard skin is intended for and without carpet or floor mat over it to protect it you may have a bigger mess than you would have otherwise. On this one it is probably best to contact them directly and ask.

Some spray on bedliner might work though and you may be able to get it in the desired color or close enough or a contrasting color.

Re: Lizard skin

Lizard skin has 2 products. One is an insulator the other is a sound deadener .

Use them both inside your cab on the fire wall, floor , back and roof and you will have a quieter cooler cab.

Use bed liner on the step and well and you'll have a tough finish to step on.

Re: Lizard skin

truk has 3m paint protection film on body color bc/cc steps
26,000 miles and it is just now showing a few scratches in the film
i could peal it off and replace it and may eventually do that
when it gets to 50,000 miles
