Stock gm wire.

Was unsure where to post this but here we go. I'm currently doing a lq4/4l80 swap and need to extend some of the wiring harness. Does anybody know if you can buy stock color coded gm wire? I really don't wanna go pull wire out of a salvage yard.

Here's what you asked for:

If it were me, I'd go to the salvage yard. The TXL wire insulation used in modern vehicle engine harnesses doesn't dry out or get brittle, so the used stuff is just as good as brand new wire. And it's a lot cheaper used.

Any time I could get my hands on a wire harness I would snag it up. Has most any color you would need. I always keep one around.

Do you know any one at a dealership. If so they will replace a harness and most likely shove it back in the tool room. See if they will give it to you.

Re: Stock gm wire.

If you look at the GM vans, they have BIG runs of 10+ wires under the carpet or roof liner for the rear a/c and stuff like that. Great source of CLEAN wire from being inside the whole time.

I generally look for the newest Cadillac I can find, there's a couple of miles of wire in the interior of them. Also under the carpet and usually really clean.
