Re: Installing van tilt column thoughts
The only issue (not big ones) is you have to shorten the intermediate shaft and you'll need an adapter to match the steering column wire plug to the trucks wiring. Other than that, MANY folks have done it without issue.
There is probably a write up on it in the FAQ section of the board. EDit: Here ya Go: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=133937

Re: Installing van tilt column thoughts
I just installed one from a Chevy Vandura Van and all is good after a couple of changes that needed to be done..
1... relocate Safety Switch further down the column as our trucks already have. (there is a posting on the site with pics to show you how to do it). 2... Shorten Intermediate shaft as also indicated. Voila all is done and good to go... Darren.

Re: Installing van tilt column thoughts
I think only the later columns need the harness adapter, which is also required if you use a replacement turn signal cancel in your truck column. You'll know by if the connector is straight or u-shaped. I have installed van tilts in trucks w/o moving the neutral safety switch. You need to move the brake push rod to the other side of the pedal arm. It's been a while and can't recall if I had to make an harness extension to reach the van location. That's easy enough to check.
