1964 C10 3-Speed to Super T10 Swap

I am seeking help and information on a swap from a 3-Speed (Borg Warner non-syncro 1st) in my 64 to a 1978 Super T10 (yes I now about overdrive and have done that before, just going old school on this project).

The truck was converted to a 74 350 before I got it but still has factory bell-housing and 3-speed.

1) Can I use the same Bell Housing?
2) Does it require any machining?
3) Clutch, Pressure Plate ?
4) Throw-out bearing?

Anyone need/want a three-speed? I was told it was rebuilt just before I bought the truck and it's going to keep my old T350 company out back.

1) Yes you can use the original bellhousing and just hang the trans off of it as the 3 speed is.

2) There shouldn't be any machining necessary.

3) A '78 Super T10 should have a fine spline input shaft, so I would go with a clutch for say a '78 Z28.

4) The same application for the TO bearing, '78 Z28.

Thanks - i was pretty sure this was the case but couldn't confirm it. I got a sweet deal on the ST10 so should be a real budget saving move.

I put a new clutch pack in the truck recently, so it's a new pressure plate, any need to replace it?

You will need a different driveshaft yoke too.

The pressure plate should be fine as long as you can find a disc the correct diameter with the fine spline for the ST10.
