Hugger Orange or Bright Yellow???
I'm having trouble deciding on a color for my '72. I like the orange and white, but you see that on a lot of these trucks. I want something a little more unique.
I don't see a lot of yellow trucks out there, so I'm thinking this might be the way to go. I'm not restoring the truck to factory original, there will be some mods to drivetrain and interior. The exterior will remain stock except for the mirrors. What do you guys think? Lets see some pics of yellow trucks! -Scott

yellow or YELLOW
This is my Son's truck that I am building. It's getting closer to being completed. It's PPG Canary YELLOW. Not yellow...LOL. Before I started construction, we talked about it and I am going to build one for him and one for me. So I asked him what color he wanted. He said he really wanted yellow. I really tried to talk him out of it. I didn't tell him why I didn't want it yellow, but the reason was....He stole my color...No problem, my second choice is hugger orange. His is a fleetside and mine is a step. I can't wait to get a pic of them parked side by side. I used to have a '71 Short Fleet that was painted purple. My kids were little and called it the "Barney" truck. The purple was on it when I bought it. It wasn't the best paint job. It was badly oxidized. I would'nt mind having another purple truck. Who knows, maybe I'll skip the hugger orange and go for purple. Besides, the 69 Camaro convertible that's patiently waiting in my garage is going to be arctic white with hugger orange stripes....Anyone have any pics of purple trucks???

Purple Go Kart
This was my Son's gokart. I painted it purple for him. He outgrew it and I let him sell it on ebay last summer. He sure had fun with that thing. I'm starting to like the idea of purple on my next project more and more.

Go for the YELLOW. It's a great color to work with. It's somewhat forgiving and doesn't really show the dust between washings. What wheels are you going to use? I have always been kind of partial to the old skool slots. Gives it that timeless look.

Not sure about the wheels yet. I will probably start out with cheap black steel rims, just to get it on the road. Then I will upgrade to some better ones...

if you are looking for an oddball color, i personally dont see many dark green trucks or green trucks in general, i would say like a hunter green. i to am trying to think of a unique color for my gmc i am thinking of a baby blue with a white cab top
