My Power Brakes Solution (88-98)
While there seems to be a few options, if the booster ever takes a crap I wanted to be able to simply pull it out and put a new one in. Could have used an earlier booster/MC, but most junkyards are littered with the 88-98 1500's, so that was my biggest reason.
Local wrench a part just happened to have a really poor shape 62 C10 in the yard, so I grabbed the pedal assembly (it was frozen so I had to buy the entire thing). Cut the pedal, and put the bellcrank in the rear open slot of my pedal box. Couldn't find the right size clevis to tie it all in together, but I have a pile of shock mounts from various 4x4 and bike projects, and Grainger had the perfect clevis for $8. End result. It's only tacked together right now, but the pedal feels good. I moved it down on the pedal about an inch as well. I still have the factory spring, I just moved it down so it won't rub the rear bellcrank. |
