Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

Put the wheels from my 61 Impala on today. Front tires are too small. I think I'm going to move the ones on the back to the front and buy bigger tires for the rear. Anyone know a good rear tire size for an 18" rim?

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

he might be able to pull it off in the rear without doing any of that but the front he will have to remove the inner fenders an trim them an remove the a/c stuff

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

I figured so on the front inners, wasn't sure on the ac parts of it how close it would be, that would take quite a drop though but would look the best to tuck them all you can to actually fit the look of the truck, good luck, keep us posted.

Go with a Drop Member to narrow up the width, then maybe you could drive it with the wheels tucked....

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

newbie here, Im glad I found this site. I just purchased this 79 BIG10, to bring back the memories of the one I had in high school. All original except paint and exhaust, 34,000 orig miles, as far as I can tell all looks accurate.
Any insight, comments, etc welcome as I am just learning about these trucks.
Thanks

There are a few pieces that need to be replaced, nothing major. Just want to enjoy a cruise every now and then with her. My wife and I haven't had a bench seat since high school... fun fun!Of course if the right offer comes along she may get a new owner.

(I think) I saw your 78' somewhere online, are you running 325's on the rear? I'm really curious as to what size tire your running on the front, my truck sits at the same height.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Short Beds Part II

I just picked this up few days ago. I traded a 98 civic for it..the guy was in a tuff spot and needed a daily driver for his family that had 4 doors.

1981 350/350, dropped, runs good but needs tlc. I plan to finish up the body work, paint, exhaust, tires, and interior.
