Re: Camaro front end
That one will work,it is a front steer unit. the older Nova's were rear steer.

Re: Camaro front end
This is my 53,I started it around 10 years ago. I have a 74 Nova on it and a Nova rear end.I put a tilt out of a Cavalier. My goal is to redo it and make it into a roadster pickup. First I have promised my wife that her 64 will be safe to drive long distance.

Re: Camaro front end
Hello Indian, I like the work your friend has done on his truck sub-frame, I want to do the same on my 55 2nd. Do you or does your friend have more pics of the process, maybe some notes. I am a newbie and I have a 78 camaro sub that i am going to use. If you can help please email me at catchntheplug@hotmail.com. Thanks Nate

Re: Camaro front end
I did one on my 52 GMC. it worked out well. The 55 -59 or so are a lot easier because of the frame width.

Re: Camaro front end
Here is what I did on my 55 big cab.
similar to Sal's 55 Chevy I agree its cleaner than under the frame. the ride height seems to be OK as well. I have a camaro rear end going in this week with stock springs in the rear it should ride great. |

Re: Camaro front end
I also did mine the "NoLimit" way. The dvd is a good investment! They make it very simple. I road tested mine last week and LOVE IT! rides great and stops great! All of my progress is in the link at the bottom of my post.

Re: Camaro front end
I currently have a 73 firebird subframe roughly in place on my 59 apache project using the luxe blue method and I'm looking to make sure I have it centered/line up correctly before tacking it in place. Anyone have any tips for making sure the sub is lined up correctly with the truck frame? What points on the truck and sub can be used for making cross measurements? Also, what kind of wheelbase is most common when doing this and dropping the front? I've seen most like to move the wheel forward about 1-2 inches. I'm about 2 now and thinking I may go to 1.5 or so after I set the ride height where I want it.

Re: Camaro front end
I have done many of these.... mostly 70-81 Camaros but also a few Nova's.
The only issue is if you want to lower your truck (47-55 1st) you will need to narrow the control arms or buy them from Fatman or some other vendor that sells them |
