Tire preference
hello all,
I made a post about my 2012 suburban 2500 and it bad towing characteristics and now i am leaning towards the tires being partially to blame. (back story) I put Michelin LTXs on a taho a few years back and it would catch every groove in the road. Switched to BFG AT and it road straight as an arrow. That said, The first thing i did when i got this truck was put new LTX tires on it. I only drove it once on the highway with the original bridgestones. I do not recall the Bridgestones catching the grooves but today with no trailing, truck only, I drove the same stretch of road and i felt like i had to "hold on". What tire are some of you running, and,, are they any comments about road manors?? All help is great. Discount tire will swap tires for me but i want to make the right choice. Chris |

Re: Tire preference
Nitto NT-850 tires. Good tire and handles well.

Re: Tire preference
No Cooper tires! You'll regret it. My 2011 Suburban came with Cooper tires when I bought it used in '12. The truck had 29K miles and the tires were terrible - they felt like they were not round. Replaced them with Michelin tire in '13 and have been happy since.

Re: Tire preference
Thanks for the input,
I concluded the tires are not really the culprit as much as the roads here where I live. I am happy with the LTX. The trailer is pushing the limits of a bumper tow at 900 lbs and i think it is just asking a little too much of it. On a test on pavement, not concrete, the set road much better. All in all the package is working well. Thanks again, Chris |

Re: Tire preference
I use Nitto Terra Grapplers, i think they might work well with your Suburban 2500.
