Its cheap, and it works. I need to do some fine-tuning on mine, but I can post "process pics" if you think they'll help.

I've made a lot of progress lately. My speed has been clocked, and it's nearly mach 10 with my hair on fire! Building it back is soooooo much more fun than tearing it down and cleaning the parts. Although I do love to restore an old part and give it new life again.

Tonight, my amazing wife helped me install the windshield on my 1965 C10. It's got a few flaws and chips but since this was my first time installing one, I thought it best to try it with an old piece of glass. That way no serious loss if I break it.

A look back at what things looked like the day I removed the glass makes today a VERY satisfying day.

We had success on the 3rd try. Get the lower edge started and let gravity help it settle into place.

Changed out 235/75/15s for a set of 30x9.50R15s.

These look much better than the 235s. A tad taller and a pinch wider.

I finished up 2 projects today on my '63 short fleet. I added a 2 5/8 inch autometer clock in the dash to match the gauge cluster. I also add a new Retrosound Zuma radio. I had to use a universal face plate to cover up the enlarged hole made by a previous owner for a AudioVox cassette radio. Added 2 6 1/2 inch speakers on kick panel and a new dual speaker replacement for the dash grill.

Well I got home from work and went straight to the garage. The first job was to cut down the repair panel so the join is under the rocker panel . That way no filler is required over the join



Once marked it was then cut to match the cut on the repair section



Next was to offer up the repair section



Once lined up it was out with the welder



After welding it in place I offered up the rocker panel with no sign of a repair section fitted

Impressive progress Martin !!!

I feel kinda embarrassed posting up my bit here

Not much to show, hurt my back a week or so ago, and when I went out to the garage last night, I made it to the garage door and decided to come back indoors and be sensible.

This morning a combination of two cats and my back woke me early, so I had a cuppa tea and went to the garage for a bit, to tidy up stuff and just make a bit of dust, as the rest of today belonged to Nicola, it is the 7 year anniversary of our first date, and we had agreed to go out and do stuff in Rochester where we had our first date, it was meant to be a quick coffee, but had ended up in a four hour date followed by 5 hours the next day and culminating in her marrying me two years later.
It's not all been smooth sailing, but I would not trade this girl for most. How many women tell you to buy a truck, motorbikes, tools and toys?? ( sure, she gets her share back, but it's worth it every day)

So this resulted in a small bit of progress.



Clean metal around the screen, peak next and then some primer and white paint to get it ready for the insurance to replace the screen that got smashed last year. I would love to delay installation till all the paint is done, but they have jobs to do too.




Tomorrow it is off to Essex for the NSRA Swapmeet, let's hope there are some bargains.

Last year Mate Martin picked up a door for £100.00 for his truck, as well as a new front screen rubber for £10.00 and a complete cab mount kit for £35.00

I do live in hope.

We'll I got a little bit more done this afternoon. After I got all the usual jobs done Saturday morning . I went into the garage and got the inner rocker and floor section welded in. Another step nearer if only a small one





Next step is to turn it back over hang the door and fit the outer rocker . Then start all over again on the other side

First attempt failed on my install of the Black Magic 3300cfm fan. The u channel works side to side but an inch or so short in and out using factory radiator tabs. So JB weld it is. I will have new extention dry by morning and no one will notice. Swapped straight plug wires over to 90s and routed them under new headers. Headers won't clear clutch fork, so we are going forkless with McLeod hydraulic bearing.

Not quite done to my truck, but definitely for my truck.

Today was NSRA Swapmeet day at Arena Essex.

As always it was breezy and cold. I had prepared for this with some thermals under my jeans, a t-shirt under a hoody top, and a ski jacket and beany hat.
Toasty.

I had no specific searches, other than looking for a full set of 6 stud 15 inch Chevy Rallye wheels, with or without beauty rings and caps.

I love the Chrome smoothies, but also want a set of Rallye wheels on the truck.

So we all set off and I bought various things through the day, in my case, everything except the masking paper at £12.00 for the roll, and 4 rolls of masking tape at £5.00 was bought at prices I was happy to pay and made me feel I picked up a "bargain"

It included three Karen name plates for 50p, which I got for Mrs Nightmares Racing. A fire exit sign for the shed at 50p and an 8mm ratchet head ring/flat spanner for £2.00. A cool T-shirt for £5.00 which features a Chevy C10 Fleetside, wire wheels at £1.00 each, UVEX safety glasses at £1.00 each and a huge spanner for £1.00.



I also thought my bargain of the day was a pair of used Ripspeed Stainless Steel 2.5" oval exhaust tips. Not perfect, as I would love a pair of Range Rover rectangular units, or off an Evoque but they are not that common.

As bought.



One done, I hated the blue edge.




One hour, some metal polish, black fingers and a blister on my thumb later.......




While out, I also saw one of these for £5.00 and if he had a pair, they would have been mine.

Just like them a whole lot, think they would look cool as tip covers.



So that was my trucking weekend completed.

Last night Freecycle threw up a pretty cool treasure.

Brand new, never fitted, electric door opener. Comes with VHS video instruction manual.



Of course this is perfect as the garage has alarm, infrared video but manual door opening.

The electric door opener will be great for when I reverse down the drive to the garage after shows and using the truck.

So another weekend job waiting.

After buying the 2.5" exit tips, and deciding to go for a 2.5" mild steel system on the truck, with 3" cutout valves, I went onto EBay and found these stainless reducers, so will get them rigged onto the Y pieces and then build the system behind it.



Another confluence today was the purchase of a couple of cans of Rustoleum Galva Zinc, cold galvanising spray.

I am going to mask off the rears of both new chrome bumpers and paint them with this stuff, hopefully preventing rust in the long term.



I am also going to paint the new exhaust system pipes and boxes with the galvanising spray, to prevent some of the external surface rust.

After work tonight I popped into the garage for a bit and removed more of the paint on the cab.

Mostly the paint, primer and possibly spray filler comes of slowly but surely, I think the thickness of coats of paint has saved the truck over the years.





Tonight I need to see ifI can find a decently priced DeWalt 18V cordless drill online, as I need one.

Best I can get so far is using Nicola's dad on Wednesday to get a 10% Pensioner discount.
