Chris thank so much for the pictures! I would jump right on the big block hugger but im curious if the factory flange bolted to them as well?? I'm just trying to get away from cutting the frame and spending another 70.
No problem at all Lance. Good luck on your choice of header. BTW, nice couch in the garage. I think I need one of those in my garage.

Re: 72 chevy modern swap

Got my fuel supplies!!! Went with a tanks inc fuel pump, supports up to 630hp just what i was looking for! Decided to go with russell braided fuel line. I asked around and everyone told me to try to get the least amount of connections in your fuel system so i went this route. It was within 50 dollars of using aluminum hard line with braided line on both end.

Re: 72 chevy modern swap

My 6.0 was equipped with a steering reservoir for a hydroboost. Lot of people people like the hydroboost because its pumped up on psi so brakings a lot easier. I pulled mine out of a 89 1 ton, and i was looking it over and i took the mounting plate off. Stared at it awhile, turned it 180 degrees flipped it and drilled 2 holes. Would you look at that!

Re: 72 chevy modern swap

I took the old brake booster rod and cut of the threaded end. Then cut the hydros rod, and welding the threaded end to it. Worked really good, but you will have to round the hole in the firewall to get he hydros nut threw. Also the master cylinder off the 89 has the same bore as the 72's master.

Pacific fabs crossmember mounted up. It moved the engine ahead 2 1/2 inches so that the tranmission would drop on its own crossmember.

Re: 72 chevy modern swap

Modification i had to make on the crossmember so the motor mount would bolt on. I got sick of the cab on the frame so the heck with it. IT GONE!

Now your cookin with gas! By the looks of it, things should work great. Keep at it. I think this part of the build was the most fun.

Re: 72 chevy modern swap

Threw the np205 on the transmission. All the bolts went in, but one.. Took me awhile to get it figured out. I had to oval out one of the holes. Nothing hard. Looks great and in the exact same location. The tcase cross shift bar had to be grinded down just a wee bit so it doesnt hit the adapter housing.

Re: 72 chevy modern swap

I'm having headers problems boys, I noticed on Chris' reno project he had tried hedman block headers. The thing i dont like about them 1/4 flange, 18 gauge pipes, and 3 inch collecter. Ive been looking at hookers block hugger which are a little better 5/16 flange, 2.5 collecter, but only 18 gauge pipes. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hok-2313hkr/overview/

73-81 blazer 25 gallon tank, bought it off ebay $86 buck is what it cost me, i started out with a 40 out of a suburban an decided it was way to big. I love this one, and its just the right size. But 81-91 are the same other then they are made for efi. Unless yours is 31 gallon?

Re: 72 chevy modern swap

I got a 31 gallon off eBay for 96$ shipped. So I bought the sender for the efi from Classic parts for 48$ Straps for 28$ and a walbro pump and kit for 80$. Since the picture I changed the clamps added a different rubber mount and screen.
