Millitary Tires
I was browsing last night and came across these tires.
http://www.millertire.com/products/c...alty-military/ For some reason, I can't picture what they would look like on a truck from this vintage (I have a 69 K10, so that is what I was thinking of). Has anyone seen a picture or of an actual truck with this setup? If so, I would be interested in seeing for myself. |

Re: Millitary Tires
I ran knobby 16" tires on the rear till I changed to commertials. Sure like the look.

Used to have tires that looked like this for my drive tires (2wd). Seems very classic to me. All the old 1 ton grain trucks around here have that style tread. Tall skinnies look good on a 4wd.

Re: Millitary Tires
I remember my Dad running a set of those on the rear. He got them for free from the neighbor. I dont have any pictures though.

Re: Millitary Tires
Mine were Hercules HDT's 7.50 16s. Still available.

Re: Millitary Tires
I bet they'd look killer on a stock suspension. A lifted truck, even slightly lifted, it may look goofy. Love those tires though.

Re: Millitary Tires
Thanks everyone, I am liking the look so far. Maybe I will give it a try later this summer and see what I think.

Re: Millitary Tires
They may look good, but they drive like crap. On road and off. My restored '44 jeep now rocks a set of Hankook Dynapro MT's on 15x7 black Rockcrawlers while the 16" steel wheels and NDT's languish in the shed.
Much more compliant ride and more than 100% more rubber on the ground. 215 75 15 vs the 6.00 16. Both are run at 10 psi offroad. Tall skinny mud grips are cool, get you some. Just don't get some old school bias tire... 235 85 16 BFG KM2's would rock and are just a little bigger than the 7.50 16" bias tire.
