Stock tank question

Considering an LS swap, have some questions on the fuel tank. I want to keep the stock tank. I have read that a lot of guys weld a bung on the tank for a return, but their fuel sending unit only has one line. Mine has two (I'm assuming one is return one), with a vent line at the top passenger side. Can I just use the return line on the sending unit, or is this not actually a return and something with emissions?

For the vent line, do I leave that as is or close it off?

I modified the stock sending in a past post. here is an example. can I see a pic of your sending unit? Also to answer your question, it should be able to be used as a return line. ventilation on my stock tank is routed on the passenger side to a charcoal canister I picked from the junk yard. thanks.

I don't have a picture of it, but it looks just like yours. I don't remember what the lines inside the tank looked like but I'm sure it was similar to yours

Is your cap vented or nonvented?

i have a non vented cap. im looking forward to moving my tank, to the rear of the truck, where the spare tire is mounted.

I got a 72 sending unit a piece of tube and a compression fitting. I used the vent line on the 72 sending unit as the return line. I extended it the length of the feed line. Works like a champ.

On a '72, you could use the vapor line as a return - that is what I did.

Just realized I do not have the vent line on the passenger side. So if I go LS, do I need a vent there? Vented or non vented gas cap?
