Re: 1979 door panels

Do you need (new) LMC,ebay, junkyards if your lucky, If you still have yours I would save a ton of money and do the duplicolor thing it is currently working for me just takes a bit of time, mine were painted by the po so i had to remove all the chipped paint before i could spray the duplicolor.

Re: 1979 door panels

I wish i could do that, but my truck has sat in the california sun for so long that they have turned very brittle and are palling apart. Im hoping to get lucky with a pair and then just dye them, until then though i guess im left without any.

Re: 1979 door panels

I know what you mean about brittle the wing window on my passenger side will not close, it was that way when I bought the truck and when I was removing the paint right there the plastic has seen better days but I sanded it out and seems to hold the duplicolor paint just fine

I've been looking as well. May just have to buy from LMC, Brothers, etc pretty soon.

Re: 1979 door panels

I have a set that was just delivered yesterday (coverlay brand) and they are going back first thing tomorrow morning...very poor quality, the inside window felt is STAPLED on, and the first screw i put in (by hand) to hold it pulled all the way threw the damn thing, So ill go without till i find a pair.

Where did you buy them from? That way I know to steer clear of them.
