Need help with frame identification.

I have a frame that came with my '55 body and cab. Replaced the frame with another C-10, but would like to identify the old frame.
4X4 and think it is around 1978 or so but don't know for sure.

I did find these numbers on the passenger side about under the cab area.

Can some one decode these for me.

First, on top of frame under cab.

This one on the outside of the frame under cab.

Re: Need help with frame identification.

C6F460131 =
C = Chevrolet (as opposed to GMC)
6 = 1976
F = Flint Assembly
460131 = sequential portion of VIN

That would be my guess.

The "76" and 5/15/76 on the side of the frame would seem to confirm that.

Re: Need help with frame identification.

Thanks Keith.

Bought this truck last year and the PO told me it was a 87 4x4 frame that he put the 55 cab and box on. Also told me that it had a 350 ci engine in it and I just assumed it was from the 87. NEVER ASSUME ANYTHING.

So now it has a 76 frame and the motor turned out to be a 305 from a 78 Caprice.

This project is getting worse by the day.
