1951 Chassis

I will shortly have my 3100 body completely off the original chassis. There are decent wheels and tires, all the original brakes, suspension, trans (floor shift but don't know what it is yet), steering box, driveshaft, wiring harness if the buyer wants it, cables, steering column, etc. There is also a GMC straight 6 motor in there, supposedly from a mid-50's truck, but missing the starter, carb, and maybe a few other parts. The frame looks to be in very good condition, but I have no idea if the motor is great or crap.

Am I better off trying to sell this all together or part it out? I know it's a guess or opinion but I'm looking for advice based on experience. How can I determine the fair value? I really have no idea and have limited info after searching.

imo... it's not worth the time to scrap or sell
scrap value might get you gas money to haul it to the scrap man
paying yourself 2 cents per hour to disassemble and sell parts is better time spent working on your truck

i gave all of my take offs away to a guy in ohio that was trying to restore a 56
you'd be surprised at how far people will come for free stuff

try posting it in the ''paying it forward'' thread in this forum
might get you some good karma headed forward

You might go over to stovebolt.com and post there, they are more stock orientated. Being a gmc the engine might have some value as well an any unique GMC parts. I would not scrap it, somebody is looking for a good frame and other parts like a date coded radiator tank, etc. I still have stuff in my attic stash from my 59 and occassionally some one needs it and I send it off.

Thanks! I don't have big expectations on making a payday from selling the chassis, but a few bucks is always helpful and I definitely would like to see the parts used vs. just scrapped.
