How do you fix this day?

Wife got up in a bad mood... Dog ran away... Office chair broke and threw me in the floor... Radiator blew out on the 66 while picking up a new chair...

Suggestions on where to get a new radiator, looked at the local stores, cost about $200. Anybody used the radiators from Advance? Opinions?

Re: How do you fix this day?

We put this in a friends truck a few weeks ago. It's a massive 2 row and has a original look. It is setup for a top mont bracket not the rails on the side. Bottom brackets had to be opened up for the bigger size.

Re: How do you fix this day?

Advance Auto now sells only 60-66 trucks radiators with the plastic tanks. Just my opinion, but I don't care for radiators with plastic tanks. Had to replace the one on my Jeep because the plastic tanks started to separate from the metal core, which is a fairly common problem. If you haven't, do a forum search, there were some resent posts about reasonably priced replacement radiators.

BTW, isn't there a country song "My Wife ran off with the Dog and I sure do Miss Him"? Which is right up there with "I'm So Miserable Without You; It's Like Having You Here" and "I Ain't Never Gone To Bed With An Ugly Woman, But I Sure Woke Up With a Few"

this would be great for driving around the neighborhood like an ice cream truck. play some zz top. it cant be an accident that the tap is directly in front of the operator

(meant to be humorous, I dont advocate drinking combined with driving!)

Re: How do you fix this day?

Champion Radiators .. good replacement and a good quality for the cheap prices ... i agree dont waste money on a plastic tank radiator ... sure there are much better radiators out there than Champion but they will cost you quite a bit more ... here a idea on the prices i got a 3 row Champion Radiator and aluminum fan shroud with the electric fan all for $339 if you only need the radiator then its $ 205.00 and they also have both the flange mount and the saddle mount radiators ... hope this helps Happy Truckin

Re: How do you fix this day?

Thanks guys for all the suggestions, think I will invest in the better radiator, even if I have to park it a while.

Re: How do you fix this day?

Not a totally bad day.
Went to the Masterpiece Classic Car show on the Milwaukee lakefront 2 years ago with my wrecker.
Hot , Humid which I hate, won second place in original work truck. Only to return to the truck as my wife got an instant migraine headache. Ran the truck hard on the 2 hour trip home,
( 60 mph with a one ton with 456 gears and no load on Wisconsin roads) real hot and humid with very uncomfortable wife . At home she showered and went to bed only to wake up in the morning not being able to read or see out of the right side of both eyes. She had a stroke and didn't know it, she has been home for 2 years now and slow improvement. I get the trophy and she gets all the attention, how does that work?

Ice cream always makes things better for me.

And - please be careful when you run out to pick up that radiator....

Re: How do you fix this day?

Well took the advice from many of you guys and waited to buy a good radiator. Went with the Champion 3 row, V8 radiator. Definitely glad I bought it, however it looks a little out of place on Old Country... Here's a few pics.

Thanks for the great suggestion!

Don't understand why my pics get rotated when I post from my phone....
