Re: 59 power steering
Hmmm ....
Power steering title , disc brake question. Well the disc brake conversion depends on the axle. If your talking about the stock I beam axle check out the kits from http://www.fillingstation.com or other parts suppliers. Also add a tapered wheel bearing conversion kit. Now for the master cylinder , you can go manual or power , under floor or firewall mount, vacuum or Hydra-boost. You will also need a proportioning valve, a combo or adjustable for the rear brakes along with 2 p.s.i. residual valve for front and/or rear disc brakes . A 10 p.s.i. residual valve for rear drum brakes. Of course all new plumbing.

Re: 59 power steering
All I can say is I used Performance Online's kit and had fitment issues + piss poor customer service. It does, however, stop very well (after I modified things to work & dealt with the squeeling the piss-poor pads made)
Which bolt pattern are you looking for? 6 lug? 5?

Re: 59 power steering
I think the CPP 400 power steering box is hard to beat.
So far I've only driven with it a couple of hundred miles but I'm 100% happy. I also have the CPP 6-lug front disc brake kit with their firewall-mounted power booster setup. There were a few installation quirks but I'm very happy with the way they operate. |
