Identify Chevy Clip Hubcap ?

Recently acquired this with a bunch of other parts and not sure of the year it was used. Made for the older clip style wheels. Is it actually a truck or car hubcap? Am thinking early 50's but have seen the same style cap with a gold or yellow background instead of the red. Nice for the shop wall hanger, some minor dings and nics but overall pretty decent for its' age. Can anyone shed some light on the year of useage and same type cap with differant color centers?

Looks like you guys nailed it. Guess I'll have to give it a place of honor in the shop since I'm a '49er myself. Folks got me off the assembly line in 19 and 49 (See thread: Geezers Unite )

Looks like someone painted that one black for some reason back years ago.
Either as a custom look or maybe to cover up

They would look better on a truck than on the cars

Don't remember if it was a Sedan delivery or not, I was pretty young back then, LOL.

The cap is actually shiny chrome with some light nics or dings. Just poor lighting when I took the pic. Cloudy and rainy today, in the low 50's. I agree, would look good with a set of four on a early TF pickup.
