Re: dana 44 front hubs
Warn 9072 hubs are a good alternative to the Spicers, also a few other brands that make locking hubs for the old style external drive hub.

Re: dana 44 front hubs
I didn't need the lock-outs as they are many avl. I needed the wheel hubs that go on the spindles. seems nobody has them. No more repo's?

Re: dana 44 front hubs
Gotcha, might have to hit the bone yards, I've never had to replace those. Did I just jinx myself?

Re: dana 44 front hubs
Shouldn't all the 71-87 chevy 1/2 ton Dana 44 hubs be the same??? I'm not familiar with 3/4 and 1 ton stuff, but I would think you could get a used pair pretty easily and would be surprised if there isn't an aftermarket option.

Re: dana 44 front hubs
I found some Jason. those are big bearing and i need small bearing. I don't know if you can get a different bearing to make them work. anyway i found a set used.
putting disc brakes on my closed knuckle axle, and you need spindles and hubs from an open knuckle axle. should of just found a later axle for the parts. funny i always do things the hard way lol!

Re: dana 44 front hubs
61K10,
Not real sure, but the Dana 44 ( Chevrolet version 1/2 ton) and Chevrolet 10 bolt (1/2 ton) may be the same up to 87', also could be Blazers and Subs up to 90' for these parts too. The 10 bolt stuff is likely more common. Recently purchased complete 83' 10 bolt with every thing including gear box, sway bar stuff for $150. Not sure for 61, however, for 64' axle all bolts in the same for 72 to 87' for Dana 44 and 10 bolt. Stock gear box linkage will need some modification. I have a modified linkage for 64' gear box some where. Photos available if needed. Just did an axle swap on 64'. Les |
