Engine Number
Hey guys,
I have a 66 GMC 3/4 ton, and i believe that the engine was replaced, I dont know when or with what exactly. It's a chevy, v8, but i dont know the size, and I got the block number, but dont really know what to do with it. The number is: V05I7YW If someone could help me out, to find out what size and the specs of this engine is, or tell me where to look, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks Max |

Look for the casting # on the block, it's on the rear of the block below the driver's side head. It should be a # like 3900010, or something along those lines. You can check the casting # yourself at www.mortec.com

0517: May 17th YW: This doesn't match any small block engine codes. Could it be YV? For Big Block, YW would be a '69 427. Brian |
