Re: Funny Vetrans Day Photos of Me
Having spent time in the Army in Germany my-self I can appreciate your predicament, LOL. Where / when were these pics taken? I spent time in the 3rd Armored Div, 12th Cav near Frankfurt in '68 &'69 before Uncle gave me an all expenses paid SE Asian tour in '70. Spent a LOT of time on practice manuevers / war games at Hoenfels, Vielsek, Tiergarten, Grafenwhoer were some of the spots. Graf in tents in the winter is one cold SOB ! Spelling is off on the training areas but I'M sure you can get the idea. Is that a M-113 APC doing the honors pulling you out?

Re: Funny Vetrans Day Photos of Me
Ya m113 pulling I think the 1/4ton nomenclature is m151. It was probably hoensfeld( and I ain't even gonna look up the spelling I know the places your talking about) I think Graf was mostly ranges and hoensfeld was used for gaming and maneuvering. But I was stationed in Baumholder so we never trained there(Army logic!) Picture was 83 or 84. 8th ID. I was probably freezing in the water wearing T-shirt! I was way after you! I got lucky, I spent my enlistment playing in the mud and drinking beer. And it got even more fun for me;I was stationed at the NTC at fort Irwin and was detached to the foreign materials training center. I got to test and drive just about everything the Russians had at the time. I loved it. But I got lucky, unlike many before and after me.
Glad you made it back from SE Asia!

Re: Funny Vetrans Day Photos of Me
Before the days of wasting peoples tax dollars surfing the internet, you had to go outside and play!

Re: Funny Vetrans Day Photos of Me
Seems somehow more constructive to be playing in the mud. Carry on (I know, this is ancient history now)

Re: Funny Vetrans Day Photos of Me
Wow! that looks early 80ish. I spent 2 years in Karlsruhe, Germany, 84-85, 18th ENG Brigade. Let dig around, have some pictures of my M151 A1 "Russ Baby" mountain climbing at Ft Hunter Ligget, CA. Those jeep could take a beating! Salute!
