Tailgate Weight
Anybody ever think of filling the lower section of the gate with cement? Wouldn't be hard to cut a panel out then re attach it...
I'm working on a big tire truck and have no box floor left; tubs and tin, and with an iron head BBC I need some ballast back there.

I would put the fuel cell way at the back along with the battery and a nitrous bottle if so inclined and leave the extra weight out.

Fuel and battery already back there, I'll put the bottle there as well but can't help thinking with a full steel front clip (with stock front wheel tubs) the weight is all from the seat forward. It's a back halfed short box with ladder bars, prolly 32-33x18-19 ET Streets, 468/TH400. My first experience trying to make a truck go fast, been GM cars before this.

It will be fine without weighting the tailgate, you will be very surprised how those slicks hook on a prepped track, that is a lot of tire, I've ran way less on my older setup without any problem hooking up.

Buy a set of aluminum heads. That will take a decent amount of weight off the nose.

I did the top of mine with 100 lbs of plate steel. Top is better as when it is down it puts weight further out, leverage ratio is your friend.

Drill holes in bottom of gate and pour molten lead in gate. You can use old Wheel weights

If you know anyone around Red Deer with access to service or swab rigs they could melt some rope socket led and pour it in your tailgate.
